Club Connect Program
The Shire of Dandaragan was successful in its application for the Club Connect program. The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries has provided the community with an opportunity to develop its clubs. The aim of this program is to enhance our clubs' capacity and capabilities, ensuring their sustained presence for years to come. We look forward to working alongside both the DLGSCI and the local community over the next three years.
Every Club
The Every Club initiative, funded collaboratively by the Shire of Dandaragan and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, fosters a strong relationship between the Shire and local sport and recreation clubs. The program's goal is to improve the overall experience of sport and recreation within the community.
Our Club Development Officer serves as a resource for clubs and organisations. They provide guidance and expertise in various areas, including securing sponsorships, fundraising strategies, grant applications, event management and planning, marketing and promotional efforts, membership management, and volunteer training. The Club Development Coordinator can assist clubs with:
- Effectively managing their club activities.
- Building sustainable sporting and recreation clubs for the long-term benefit of the community.
- Promoting the benefits of sport and recreation to the community.

Game Plan – Supporting clubs and sports to build capacity
Game Plan is a free online platform designed to equip sporting clubs of all sizes with the tools they need to thrive. It provides valuable insights into key areas of club management, helping them identify current strengths and areas for improvement.
Clubs can leverage Game Plan's assessment tools to gain a clear picture of their operational health. This allows club leaders to make informed decisions in the present while building a roadmap for future success.

True Sport
True Sport provides a cohesive, all-sport approach to align values, culture and practices of sport delivery across WA and enrich the sport experience for all participants.
True Sport aims to provide specialised support for sports to tackle industry challenges. As the overarching umbrella brand, there’s currently three initiatives;
- Child Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety of young participants is paramount. This initiative provides resources and guidance to create a secure environment for children in sports.
- Sideline Behaviour: True Sport tackles negative behaviour on the sidelines, fostering a respectful and enjoyable atmosphere for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
- Mental Health & Wellbeing: This initiative promotes mental wellness and equips sporting organisations to respond to mental health concerns.
Each initiative has a respective set of resources tailored to the WA Sporting landscape, designed to support both industry professionals and club and community volunteers on their journey to creating safe, fun and welcoming sporting experiences for all.
